I was hesitant to put the shavings down simply because it is a stock-type trailer and I was worried the shavings would blow around back there too much and get in his eyes when we got moving...they didn't blow around at all!

Funder...thank you! Sometimes I was ready to throw up my hands in frustration, but the horse he is becoming has been worth every second of silliness.

Kellie...Try the shavings for sure, they made a HUGE difference for Gabe. This was the first time I've ever had any kind of major tack malfunction...the shock on my face when my horse no longer had a bridle on must have been priceless. :)

Jessica...Hehehe! Between the two I'm glad it was the bridle that fell off and not a roll in the water...I would not have been too happy at all at a soaked saddle and a soaked me!Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16283334035989645291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6538504362683279705.post-12821654177922371122012-06-01T17:25:35.924-05:002012-06-01T17:25:35.924-05:00No, no.. that could definitely happen to me, too. ...No, no.. that could definitely happen to me, too. Your ride sounds delightful - too funny about the wardrobe malfunction! ;)

Seems like it's never a bad idea to put yourself in your horse's place. Shavings do help with traction as well as cushioning. (plus keeps the pee spattering to a minimum)Calm, Forward, Straighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08360276614916635500noreply@blogger.com
